Yes 6!

Well, everyone is slowly hearing about our recent curve on the roller coaster of our lives. Yes, it was a surprise, but we are happy to say we are expecting #6 in March. I'm not that far along but after telling a few people confidentially...our teen, Morgan found out through a friend on FB! Oh well, it's out! Please pray all goes well as I'm older that the first time I experienced this!

How things change in a year!

Wow! I guess it has been about a year since I posted last! My how things have changed! I pray the Lord will help me find joy each day as I prepare my children for adulthood. It has been a rough year. My grandfather Gus went home to be with the Lord, my father, and my other grandparents Gladys and Clarence. Wil's gradmother Osie also went to heaven. What wonderful memories we have of all who are now with our Savior. The impact of losing loved ones was more than expected. Wil's parents and brother Cheech are now looking for a new home and my family has suffered greatly in misunderstandings to the point we are not able to gather at this time. It is a sad reality and I have been fighting depression the last 6 months. As the sun has come with summer weather it is hard to swallow that we won't be sharing good times with our family. Truly, one doesn't know what he has until it is gone.
Wil is still working at Washington Chevrolet. Interestingly, he sells more used cars of all makes and models than new Chevy's. He works hard. He works long hours. We are all proud of him.
Morgan has grown taller than Wil and I. He ran track this spring and really enjoyed it. He ran hurdles and long distance. He has deepend his love of music and computers. He'll be in the 10th grade next fall. He was given the choice to go to public school next year and has chosen to continue homeschooling.
Nathan is growing quickly too. He has realized his true love for animals and reminds me of his grandma. He is a quiet kid who is usually very sweet and helpful. He has proven to be the perfect age to help with Elianna and they've formed quite a bond. He and Morgan have begun mowing the lawn this spring taking quite a load of Wil and I! He'll be in the 5th grade.
Kailey is our little acrobat! If you don't watch out you may get in the way of her flipping and hand stands. She is teaching Elianna to be quite the girly girl while keeping up with the boys! She is an avid reader and I expect her to fly through the 3rd grade.
Ben just turned 6! We had a great party at Krispy Kreme donuts with over 20 kids! Ben is very happy go lucky a great deal of the time. He just had his kindergarten graduation and we are so very proud of our little man. He keeps up pretty well when I teach the kids in a group. Although, Nathan favors math, and Kailey favors English, we haven't figured out what Ben favors...he does well at all but says he really enjoys Science best.
Elianna, our little princess, she just spent half the day playing with little dolls and furniture in the doll house. She just turned 2. She definitely has attitude. We are busy making sure it is a positive one. She is very curious yet cautious especially of strangers. She does well playing with all of the kids and takes her naps perfectly on time nearly every day. I'm so thankful because I need those breaks.
I am still in the Air Guard. Just a few more years.... I'm still as busy as usual trying to do it all. Not to keep up with anyone but it is just in my genes to be always busy learning and trying new things. Because of that, homeschooling works well for me. As we are just finishing up, I am busy trying to put up a pool, make a new garden, create some relaxing places in the yard, and remodel around the house. Oh yeah, and plan a fun vacation.
We are going to a 3 day Christian music festival at the end of June in Michagan with the Michagan Barkey's. We bought a pop up camper and plan to camp the whole week long trip. We'll be spending a day at Michagan Adventures ( a theme park) and the shores of lake Michagan.
So with this....... I think I will try to start blogging again. Just for myself if anything.

I guess it has been a while since the storm...........

I have been so busy....no time to blog. Having fun with the family. We just got home from vacation camping on Lakes Erie and Michagan and it is almost the 4th of July! Elianna is starting to walk and we're all looking forward to starting a new school year! No garden. I guess I need my own tiller. No pool, it was messed up by the storm and we're in the process of upgrading it with one from a neighbor. I am seriously trying to cut back on everything to have a more peaceful less stress life. I'm not sure if it will work but I'll try. I'm running on the Greene River trail just about daily. I run 2 miles and walk 1. It really is great for my quiet time with God and my health and sanity. Wil is doing Well and enjoying his work selling cars at Washington Chevrolet. I think he is a bit bummed that our vacation is over......Morgan is currently at Creation- the largest Christian Music Festival in the US. He is camping with the youth group. Our cousins from Minnesota are currently visiting and staying at the cabin too. Never.......NEVER a dull moment :)

The Big Snow of 2010

Making snow icecream! Just sweetened condensed milk and snow!

Hi sis! No power my family of 7 is here indefinitely!

Elianna enjoyed bathing in aunties kitchen sink!

Since Friday We've had nearly 3 feet of snow in a few storms. I lost count. We lost power for 3 days and went to my sister's house, home now, more snow and more snow to come! We've made memories but now we're suffering from cabin fever. Sorry kids- school is still open!

Christmas 2009

Look what I spied! We tell the kids about the real man who was like santa we don't pretend. We have fun with Wil dressind up though.

Nathan got tangled up while helping decorate a local church with the scouts.

Molassass snow candy like Laura Ingalls had. We didn't like it. We're spoiled these days!

It was very different this year in many ways. There were enjoyable times and moments that didn't pass quickly enough. Our family Christmas party was cancelled due to a snow storm, Jodee had eye surgury and was still recovering, and we missed dad as this was the first Christmas without him. It was nice though with food and gifts unexpected. The kids were all good and happy. My joy comes from the real reason for Christmas, JESUS and just knowing that he is all that really matters.

We managed to stay out of stores and the commercial craziness pretty well. I can't complain about the business, although to know that so many people rush and over do this holiday, it left me feeling like I was missing something. However, the cookies were made and the presents wrapped and the gatherings were had. The decorations were lovely and well, it was a nice Christmas. I am sooooo ready to move on. Spring is my favorite time of year and I look forward to it as I write my resolutions. This year I shall post them...it could possibly help me keep them knowing others can keep me accountable. Last year I wanted to start to learn to play the guitar..this year I shall as I got one for Christmas.......
